The main objectives of Demo Days are:
- to showcase the technological solutions developed by the members of the SHIFT-HUB community (or other external tech developers) and
- to foster large scale visibility and interactivity with the Healthcare network.
Demo Days focus on setting up the conditions that allow us to showcase the solutions developed by the members of the SHIFT-HUB community. In collaboration with external DIHs, which are enrolled as official partners of the project and whose infrastructures, know-how and services are promoted to the community of technology providers (in particular Startups, SMEs, etc.), the consortium creates a portfolio of selected solutions that can be promoted to potential users. The solutions that occurred are made available, according to their nature, on the premises of these organizations, and/or online. Tools, such as videos with the demos, presentations of the solutions and tutorials for the end-users are provided by the apps developers and used to enhance the demonstration.
As part of our planning for the SHIFT-HUB Demo Days, we initially set a target of organizing six events by the end of the project. Remarkably, this goal has already been achieved, and we are now planning additional Demo Days! From the outset, Demo Days have been designed as an effective platform for innovators, entrepreneurs, start-ups, and researchers to showcase their products, services, or solutions to a broader audience, including investors, pilot users, and public procurers.
To date, more than 150 professional users of Smart Health solutions and products have participated in these events, which have been hosted across four countries: Germany, Greece, Romania, and Portugal. To enhance accessibility and outreach, we organize Demo Days in both on-site and online formats. Looking ahead, we are committed to continuing these events even after the project’s completion, expanding beyond the SHIFT-HUB partner countries to engage a wider audience.
Key Target Stakeholders & Benefits
- Technology providers (technology-oriented SMEs, Startups, Spin-offs, etc.): Having the opportunity to showcase their solutions under development; increasing visibility and impact of their solutions.
- Healthcare professionals & Health Organizations: Discovering innovative solutions that address the sectoral needs and challenges; co-developing solutions with Technology providers that can facilitate their patients’ life.

Support begins with an initial assessment of each company’s investment readiness. Based on this evaluation and the company’s growth stage, a tailored scouting process is carried out to identify the most suitable funding opportunities—whether private or public. This enables companies to better understand the available instruments and how they can be accessed effectively.
Connections with specialized investors and relevant public and private organizations are fostered to enhance funding opportunities for community members. In parallel, a continuous mapping of public funding sources at regional, national, and European levels—including key programs such as Horizon Europe and Digital Europe—is undertaken. This is complemented by stakeholder matching activities to support regional, cross-border, and pan-European collaborations.
Key Target Stakeholders & Benefits
